Chinese producer Yu Zheng recently voiced his thoughts on how he treats artists under his agency — and it’s refreshingly supportive.

Through a personal post on social media, Yu made it clear that he has never and will never restrict his artists from dating.
He believes that emotional well-being and personal growth are just as important as career success, if not more.
According to Yu, the choice to rest, act in dramas, or even fall in love should always be up to the artist.
He stressed that he would never pressure anyone to accept a particular acting job, especially if it doesn’t suit them.
If one of his artists wants to take a break, he will back them up. If they want to act or date, he’ll be just as supportive.
For projects produced internally by his company, Yu ensures that artists are paid at market rate — sometimes even above it.
But if someone isn’t interested, he won’t insist. He leaves the decision entirely in their hands.
When it comes to projects from external producers, he offers advice, but never forces a decision.
Yu added that making a profit is never his top priority when it comes to managing talent.
Instead, he places emotional and mental health as the central concern in building a sustainable career for his artists.
Interestingly, he also highlighted the warm, family-like environment within his agency.
He said that artists under his management know each other well and often gather together.
He encourages them to treat each other like siblings — looking out for one another and growing as a team.
Even artists who have already achieved a certain level of fame are not required to take part in internal productions.
However, Yu encourages them to include their “younger siblings” in projects when possible.
He believes that bringing along juniors in career journeys helps preserve unity and nurtures the next generation.
The idea is to maintain harmony while also giving the younger talents real chances to shine.
Yu’s approach stands out in an industry often criticised for rigid control and unrealistic demands on celebrities.
While some agencies push for perfection and profit, Yu Zheng seems to champion balance, choice, and emotional freedom.
His vision reflects a more human and ethical side of showbiz, and that’s worth noting in today’s competitive landscape.
In an era where artists are often scrutinised for personal choices, Yu’s views serve as a breath of fresh air.
Whether it’s love, work, or rest — in Yu Zheng’s world, the artist’s voice truly matters.
